Hi Matt,

Keep me updated if changing the NI-RIO fixes that error. Thanks!

Hi Mychal,

Sadly the error persists. Would upgrading to SP1 be likely to mend this issue?

Thanks,

Matt

Hi Matt,

I don't think upgrading to SP1 will solve the issue. Just to clarify, you are running LabVIEW 2010 (not LabVIEW 2010 SP1) and the SoftMotion Module 2010 f1 correct? Also, can you please post a screen shot of the error? Thanks!

Thanks again Mychal,

I'm running labVIEW 2010 f2 rather than SP1. Attached are screenshots of the process which causes the error and the error message itself.

Matt

And softMotion 2010 f1.

Hi Matt,

Do you get this error when you try adding any new thing or just the NI SoftMotion Axis? Can you try adding a new variable to see if this error occurs then as well?

If you only get the error for the SoftMotion axis, can you try making a simulated axis? You can do this by right clicking on My Computer>>New>>SoftMotion Axis in your Project Explorer window. Are you able to create the simulated axis?

Thanks!

HI Mychal,

I can add a new variable, but can't add a simulated axis without crashing labVIEW.

Cheers,

Matt

Hi Matt,

What operating system are you running this on? Also, how did you uninstall the 2011 software (go through the control panel, delete files, etc.)? Thanks!

I'm running Windows 7. I went through control panel>>uninstall a program>>National Instruments Software.. and then uninstalled all NI products.

Thanks,

Matt

Hi Matt,

We were able to reproduce this issue here, so the Product Support Engineer filed a Corrective Action Request (CAR) for you. The CAR number is 336637.

However, you can reinstall the 2011 software and it will fix the issue for you (LabVIEW, Real-Time, FPGA, SoftMotion, RIO, etc.). I know you had downgraded to 2010 in order to get the Trajectory Generator API, but there is a way to get this in the 2011 software. Please reference the fifth post in this thread in order to get it on your palette.

Please let me know if it will be possible to reinstall the 2011 software. If it isn't, we can work on trying to find you a workaround. Thanks Matt and sorry that you are having so many problems with this!
