real time averaging while acquring

i am developing one application where i continously acquiring data at 100 ms in an i/o port ,now my requirement is i want to average the data ,for example first five data came i want to calculate the average and display the value in wavefrom chart .then next five data i want to average and display it.here number of averaging points is 5,then this is 1D data, then i used mean vi (labview 8.1).i think that is not correct  to put there,any one help me

In my Action Engine Nugget, i included an example to do averaging. Just limit the size of your history and you should be good to go.
