quick start

Suggest me, please, which software package does I need to solve the following task:

I suppose to create the commutation board,

CONTROLLED by MCU to switch measurement tips between the few control points,

and the digital voltmeter with USB/TCPUCB interface, and it accept the SCPI commands language.

And I need to make measurements by the program on PC,

switch input between VOLTAGE and TEMPERATURE and

read the result and write down to the HDD.

I'm just to start this subject , so even don't know which soft i need to choose.

Re: quick start

How are you communicating with the MCU?  What DVM are you using?

Re: quick start

And about Dvm - are you mean digital virtual machines

I had never use this one. I'm fresh new in the subject.

I,m just electric engineer, and can write the code on C++ - that's all my skills at this area.

And now I just need to choose, which soft I need start to study.

Re: quick start

And I had supposed to use USART for communication with MCU. And if u mean digital virtual machines, I didn't use any.

I just trying to choose software to study now, which more appropriate to my purpose s

I believe that crossrulz was referring to the digital voltmeter (DVM).

Sounds like you answered your own question. Why start a new language?

Re: quick start

You can use FTDI chip (like FT232RL) and you can then communicate MCU with PC over USB.

And if you then intend on using Labview, you can just use Visa functions.

I mean, which soft I need to prefer to solve task in topic, not worrying about wiring diagram.

You are asking this question in aLabVIEW forum, so the answer most probably is "Use LabVIEW!"

Maybe you will get a different answer in a C(++/#)/Python/whatever forum…

Re: quick start

I mean, that NI had issued few products, not LabVIEW only, so maybe between them there exist something , that is fit better to my purpose, because the task I need is very simple, and there are less complicated products, which can same to solve such a simple task?
