Did you mean:

mimic windows

Solved!
Go to solution

I have been doing some practice exams for the CLAD test. There are conflicting answers for the same question on two different practice test.

The question is:

What mechanical action of a Boolean would you use to mimic a button on a Windows Dialog.

One practice test has the answer as - "Switch when released"

The other practice test answer is - "Latch when released"

What is the proper answer?

Thanks.

I had read the above post, but is is still unclear what the accepted NI test question is.

With two practice exams having two entirely different answers for the same question, leaves some confusion.

I am taking the test tomorrow and would like to be able to answer the question properly if asked with some level of confidence.

Thanks

From NI: Latch when released looks to me to be the correct answer

"This behavior works in the same manner as dialog box buttons and system buttons. You cannot select this behavior for a radio buttons control."

I would use the example listed at the end of the help link and remember each of the mechanical actions for the CLAD:

"Refer to the Mechanical Action of Booleans VI in the labview\examples\general\controls\booleans.llb for an example of Boolean control mechanical actions."

Finally try out a windows dialog and prove to yourself which one is correct...that is if you use windows.

I took the test yesterday and I passed, I did not have the windows mimic question to deal with, but thanks for the advice to read up on all the boolean switch operations. There were a few and I was able to deal with all of them.

Thanks

Jim
