Hello,

I have a program that generates mbf files containing data and graphs that I would like to read from labview. Is there a automated converter for this kind of files that can run in the moment that this file is created?

Are you sure you mean a mbf and not a mdf file? According to the description that you give it sounds more like a mdf to me.

It is like a file to save data and spectra from mass spectrosopy machine that works under linux.

Please provide the specifications on the file. You need this information in order to read. What is the make and model of the instrument?

The file by itself is worthless. As I said, you must provide the format.

I really don't care if the file was created under Linux. That is irrelevant. I asked for the make and model. The manual would be nice.

Unlessl you provide the necessary information, you'll have to figure out how to to a read yourself.

I did not understand what you mean. I get the file from the software anf here is the manual for the machine, is this the format you are looking for?

There is no attachment.

Have you read the manual yourself? Do you see a detailed explanation of the file format? The file itself is binary so an explanation of how the bytes should be interpreted is necessary.

I am  really a new to binary files, I am actually a chemist and this was what I got from the company. Just the manual but I did not find any indication about the mbf files.

You still have not attached the manual. You haven't even provided the make and model of the instrument, like I have requested. Why is that secret information?

To give you an idea of complex binary formatting, create an Excel file and then open it with Notepad. Does it make sense?
