I have read many reports of how slow LV 8 is starting up.
I have heard NO reports of "Why what how etc"
It being treated like a "read-headed step child" as if ignoring it, might make it go away.

The only I fix that I can hope for at this time was included in my confirmation letter re:Registering LV8. See below.

Same here! Although I would have spelled "heck" differently.
BTW: Generally, applications that hang a long time but do not show CPU use are usually waiting for files from disk or some other I/O device.
