Just a quick answer: Yes.

LabVIEW supports multi-cored processors.

thank you Sam_Sharp,

Is there a limitation of the maximum number of cores ?

Not that I'm aware of. I would certainly expect any currently available Intel/AMD CPU to be supported.

I would guess cores arent an issue, but threads might be:

sounds like a 6 core processor would have a grand total of 120 or so threads. On the other hand, 120 threads doesn't sound like an issue for windows either, so in short ^^yes, probably no problem.

that said, better still would be to have the answer of a labview user that has a computer with more than 4 cores.

Does someone use labview with a 6 or 8-core processor ?

Both my laptop and computer at home have 8 cores, and i know Altenbach have used an Opteron with 16 or 32 cores.

The real question is how well you can write a program to use all these cores.

Now, this is no longer an assumption, it's a certainty.
