And how did you connect your PXI chassis to your laptop?

That makes no sense! The PXI-6682 is a PXI device that needs a PXI chassis to be usable. And if you want to use this device from your laptop you will need to have that chassis somehow connected to your laptop. This is not a software device that magically appears in your computer configuration by just installing the PXI platform services but real hardware with a specific bus that requires extra hardware in the form of a special chassis to operate,

Check the first section in this manual http://www.ni.com/pdf/manuals/372325b.pdf

you either need a PXI controller in your chassis on which you install and use the software or a special MXI interface to your external computer for this to work.

Are you running Windows on the PXI's controller?  And are you developing your PXI Application on a LabVIEW Development System installed directly on the PXI?  I've only used the PXI as a "Real-Time Remote" platform, connected to a Host PC running LabVIEW through a TCP/IP connection.

Most likely not. I doubt he has any PXI hardware. He since posted a different thread where he wants to use a serial connected GPS device instead. https://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/gps/td-p/3910841
