distance between GPS points

I have an application where I am collecting GPS data and all is well, had no problem writing the drivers for gps communication but now I need to calculate displacement between my long and lat readings.  Is there a labview function developed to do this or do I need to figure out the calculations and code it myself.  I am trying to not reinvent the wheel.

When you say distance between the points, do you mean the cartesian distance between the points (straight line), or the distance between the two points along the surface of the earth?

Either will probably do.  The distance is over a relativly short distance all measurments will be taken within a square mile or so, I am traveling 10-20 mph and am logging heading gps and speed every 2 seconds,  I am trying to extrapolate the displacement but have not used GPS for this before.
