datasocket to read file

hi,

does anyone know how to read a text file using datasocket? The text file is located in PC # 1 and I am running datasocket in PC #2. PC # 1 does not have LabView installed. I would like to read the text file (that is updated at every run of the experiment) using datasocket to PC #2. Thanks in Advance.

Hi kmoorthy,

No, no-one knows how to use datasokets to read text files. I do not believe datasockets can do that without some code to help.

Have you concidered mapping the drive of PC#1 to PC#2 and just opening the file directly?

I think that is impossible for reading a text file by using datasocket. If you want to transfer file. FTP is a good choice.
