I believe I was being quite diplomatic. By saying "rookie mistakes" I meant mistakes we all have made ourselves and instead of tearing apart their entire program I focused on answering their question, but gave them a hint that while the rest of their code may work but they need to clean it up.
Sheese man if that gets under your skin you might want to think about a career change because general social ineptness and even Aspergers is rampant in the engineering community.
