Hi Alex
I am going to guess that this .trc file is from a Lecroy oscilloscope. If its not then ignore the rest of this post ![]()
I can see that you have been registered for a number of years and I am guessing that you are very experienced with labview.
With that in mind I wanted to say:-
Do you have to use this excel file routine?
Its a binary format so you can convert the code in the excel vba macros into labview code. Maybe its the controlled document and creating a labview routine will give you configuration management headaches?
I found this link where a LeCroy engineer has posted some code to read the .trc file format.
You probably have good reasons for your activex implementation. However, I want to try and help by presenting alternative ways to solve your problem.
cheers
David
PS: As you might have guessed I can't help with your activex route. I haven't seen it done before so I am looking on from the side with interest.

Hi David Crawford,
The link totally solve my issue. It was great.
Also want to learn more about the dll and activeX. So that I can be more flexible. If anyone know the reason, please tell me about it.
Thanks for all.
