Time interval for Graph

I have a VI setup that will measure the coefficient of friction from a cof tester.  I have the the cof plot on a graph as an output (on the y-axis) with respect to time, but I am not sure how to set up the time scale (on the x-axis).
My question is how can I get my cof readings to display in a certain time interval, for example (0-30 seconds or 0-60 seconds).
Does the time interval have anything to do with the sampling rate?  Also in the time scale there is absolute and relative time. What does this mean?

Sampling rate, time interval, absolute time and relative time....

Yes these are terms to contend with  when you start fresh. But not to despair,  its very easy to learn with a sample graph and see the results - you don't even need any hardware.

In fact its easier tried out than explained in text form.

Not sure if that helped but its a pointer to the answer.

I'm not sure I really understand your problem. But this can maybe help you:

Absolute time—Displays the numeric object in terms of time elapsed since 12:00 a.m., January 1, 1904, Universal time.

Relative time—Displays the numeric object in terms of hours, minutes, and seconds starting from zero. For example, 100 in decimal equals 1:40 in relative time
[LabView Help].

Maybe is your problem that you obtained dynamic data type. So attached vi shows how to set the time scale in way you want. Th "dt" could be 1/Sampling rate.

I wish it will help you.

Thanks ceties for the info.  However I cant view the vi you sent because I have Labview 7.0 and I think that the vi you sent is in 7.1.  Do you have anything in 7.0 that I can look at?
