I have never seen this behavior. What version of LabVIEW are you using? What version of Windows? Is it only a single instance of the build text, or can you get the same behavior if you start from scratch?

In addition if you have a VI that you can say add an additional variable and it will crash, then contact NI support and they can let R&D know about it. Really any sort of reproducable steps will help.

I am using Labview 7.1 , windows XP, It happens when I start editing stuff. It pops up with some strange comments like string already existing which is not true.

Can you attach a VI that does it for you and I will try it here. I am not sure the cause, but we may be able to narrow it down or get a workaround for you.

You can try by opening a Build Text Express VI and adding probably some 7 to 10 headers and then trying deleting or editing them then it causes to crash. When it crashes I overcame this by properly typing in the info and no editing done.

I can't get it to crash, however it does seem to be behaving a little off. I got a broken VI at one point because of a broken wire in the Express VI. Sorry I can't be much more help, I would contact NI support and they can report it to R&D.

I wasnt able to get the Bad Edge error that you are describing.

Please give me exact steps on how to reproduce the error, so I can report it to R&D.

I was able to get the broken arrow that Evan is mentioning, so I will go ahead and report this right away.
