Shared Variables deployment failed

Solved!
Go to solution

Reviving an old thread, but I am having the same issue.

I tried the solutions proposed above but hasn't worked yet.

I am basing off of the example project, "Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition System".

When I try to deploy the cRIO.lvlib in "IO Simulation" I get an error Unable To Start Service.
I will attach screenshots.

Things I have tried:
Repaired Shared Variable in NI Package Manager
Went to "Services" and tried to start NI Variable Engine. Got error, "Could not start due to logon failure". Will attach screen shot.

Looking at the picture it seems you tried to start the RIO server and not the Variable Engine.

Do you have all the rights on the computer to work on those services?

Thanks for the reply.

Sorry for attaching the image of starting the RIO server error. I was trying that too.

See attached image for the error trying to start the variable engine.

Error 1068 "The dependency service or group failed to start"

I should have rights to work on the services. Is there a way to check?

Following this suggestion seems to be helping so far, will check if it solves the issue completely:

https://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/NI-Variable-Engine-not-starting/td-p/4112216

Open Windows Services, right click "NI PSP Service Locator" service -> Properties -> "Log On" tab -> select "Local System account".

Apply and then start this service.

After that, start "NI Variable Engine" service.

UPDATE: Yes!! That solved it!

Nice job!

As you can see even the problem looks the same the solution sometimes is different.

I hope this solved your issue and the system is remaining online for you.

Best regards
