I initially interpreted that reply as using the "Basic serial read and write" as the building block for his code.

That means the problem is elsewhere (obviously).  We would need to learn more about what is done with the PC prior to running that VI.

So...

Alex,

Have you tried re-booting your PC, and then immediately running the serial VI? (without running anything else prior)  Do you still get an error?
