Publisher Subscriber Design Pattern

Hello labviewer,

I need some critics for my realisation of publisher subscriber design pattern in LabVIEW. I know some peoples comes from LAVA and know this code repository already, but I didn't get feedback, which I need there.

Do you find it to complex or are lazy to understand it?
You don't need it in LabVIEW programms?
What are better alternatives for it?
Anybody did try to implement anything like this?

Hi Eugen,

This is my first notice of this example and it looks linteresting. I will try to take a look when I am at home. Please feel free to use the LAVA-PM to remind me! The earliest I can commit to is the week-end, but if you keep nagging, I may squeeze it in earlier.

Thank you!

Grüß Eugen,

if you can remember I said it was a very good architechture in LabVIEW if one has a porject that wiil require the Design pattern. Now I am into Audio Testing and allmost
all my project (Test stepps)are in sequence that is I always use Native state-Machine and sometimes NI TestStand.

I want to know what kind of projects do you actually  use this design pattern?? Hope to hear from you here in this forum I have not being to LAVA for sometime now too munch work.

Hello ohiofudu!

Of course I remember me on your interest and feedback on LAVA. I used this pattern (my prime version of Pub/Sub) only in one project and it works very good. The current release has more features and less bugs. The dispatcher understands more protokolls and the best one is, that it manages TCP/IP clients and remote communication between dispatchers.
I am carry on doing them much better:
internal handling with "clever" clusters, like OOP
topics and clients ID instead of their names and references
better defined communication protocoll between dispatcher and clients
serial client example for RS232 interfaces

My wish is to make a chat system (like ICQ) using TCP/IP to show all how usefull this pattern can be.
I opened my own web reccource, where I want to explain what it is and how to use it in own projects.
Currently my tutorial is migrating to other host and it is not downloadable, but in one-two days it will be further possible (now you can download it from LAVAs code repository).

Regards, Eugen
