I am currently working on a program to program a stoplight. I have attached a picture of what it is I am trying to program. The problem is I have no idea how to approach this! I have a front panel set up with all of the corresponding lights (Red, yellow, green, left turn arrow) and a switch to indicate if a car is present to turn left. Now im not sure what I should be doing. I feel like I need to use an array for some timing, some shift registers, as well as other things. If someone is able to help clarify an approach let me know!
I use labview 8.5

This sounds like one of the old CLD example questions. There's a huge thread on it here:

There ARE solutions (official and from users) given in that thread though so I would try to work it through by yourself first.

That was too quick! You didn't try to solve it by yourself first, DID you???
In that case here are two more. The car wash and the security system: [links removed; examples no longer available]
