I know it's just nit picky of me but...
I received my LabView 2009 package today and was rather dissapointed to see the disks were just in a paper sleave inside a plastig bag.
Not even a cardboard envelope?
At least the tri-fold package the 8.x versions came in gave me something to put on my book shelf so I would not loose them.
These disks will be lost in our ever changing lab environment...

Hello,
Its a fair point you have. National Instruments is commited to reducing its enviromental impact and the packaging was a natural place to improve this! Many customers end up with redundant disks, or failing that- if you lose them all, as long as you still have the serial number you can download the software off the website and register it.
It won't be a win-win situation for everyone but we try our best to keep everyone happy!

While we're on the subject of packaging, MUST NI put my serial number on the outside of every CD shipment they send to me?
I spend a few thousand dollars each year on my developer suite and other subscriptions (LV for Mac for example) and every tom dick and harry who sees my package can note down my serial code.....
Just seems kind of, well you know, silly.
Shane.

Wow, you let every tom, dick and harry see your package? I'm muchmore discreet on who sees *mine.*
Okay, the response was kind of, well you know, silly also. 😉

I like BIG boxes (VHS cover size). It is cool to store them in a place where everybody can admire, how much cool and exspensive software you have on your harddisk
Haha, thats what the LabVIEW posters are for!

Yes, "package". Very good.
Oh dear,
it needed Coq Rouge to post his message before the penny dropped on the reply to my original post.
I wonder why.....

So a continuation of the joke would be....
How's it hanging?
