Network Stream and .NET

Is there any relation between the .NET NetworkStream class and what LabVIEW 2010 introduced as Network Streams? Does LabVIEW actually take some ideas from this implmentation or is it just a coincident that they have similar names.

I believe that it is just a coincidence the names are the same.
