Need help with serial communication

Hi ,

  

       Im needing help to comunicate with a hardware that i made , and i dont know how to comunicate with serial port very well in labview language.

Someone can send me a simple example in labview 6.0  sending and receiving a simple hex number pls ?

Not many people are working with a version of LabVIEW as old as 6.0.  If LV6 has an example finder like the newere versions do, look for "serial" there.

Hi dunno,

 

LabVIEW 6.0 is too old. See the following link, this can help you in yor application, nd have the pth forexamples in your LabVIEW.

      The topic help me a lot , thx ... but i need help in another thing now ,, what is the adress of com1 ?

ASRL0::INSTR   ?  

The adress isnt a hexa number like 0x378 (i think) ?

You talk to com1 by using a VISA resource and the name of the VISA resource is com1. That is actually the alias. The actual VISA resource is ASRL0::INSTR. You also don't need to do anything except choose it from a list. Click on the little arrow on the right side to the VISA Resource Name control.
