Did you mean:

NIPBCFK.sys

I am having my computer post a Unknown Device Error in the System Devices . When you look at the device it states that it is a National Instruments device with the following files:

NIPCFK.sys Version 1.1.1.f0

NIPXIBAF.sys Version 2.5.4f1

NIPXIBRC.sys Version 2.5.4f0

I am unable to update the drivers or clear this error from the list.

Can anyone explain to me what this error is and how I can correct it?

Thanks

See here for an indication of what those drivers are: http://forums.ni.com/t5/Instrument-Control-GPIB-Serial/What-are-driver-nipbcfk-sys-nipxibaf-sys-and-...

Did you recently make any hardware changes or install/uninstall software?

Hi Blane,

What is the current software and hardware of your setup?  Also, which version of PXI Platform Services are you running?  A possible upgrade to PXI Platform Services 3.0.1 could help re-associate the files that you are listing with their appropriate directory and clear out the error.

Thanks for the suggestion but this didn't fix my problem. I am still getting a error from this device.

Running Windows XP professional, Labview 2010 and Diadem 2011. I am not sure but it appears that the registration database is not associating the files correctly.

Thanks

Bill

Hi Bill,

Which device are you specifically referring to?  I'm assuming it's a card inside of your PXI chassis?  Could you also let me know what other hardware you are using?

Thanks,

Marcus,

There is no chassis attached to this computer. This is the computer I use to do my Labview Development on and presently do not have any chassis attached to the computer. The only devices I have attached to this computer are a USB wireless mouse and and USB monitor.

Thanks

Bill

Hi Bill,

Would it be possible for you to attach a picture of your device manager, or just the portion that lists the errors, along with a MAX Report so that I can compare the NI software that you have installed to the error that you are receiving?  Have you ever used this computer to communicate with a PXI chassis before?

Thank you for your help.

Regards,

Marcus
