NI-DMM, FPGA Hardware handle cause 64-bit LABVIEW to crash

Solved!

Hi All,

I'm developing some vi's which uses NI-DMM instrument drivers but as soon as I create an instrument handle for the DMM, Labview crashes silently. I reinstalled labview and NI-DMM but same crash occurs. I even tested this on another machine, still the same crash. The same thing happens with the instrument handles for an FPGA.

On our machines we have 2 development Labview versions installed (also some runtime versions):

Labview 2021SP1 (32-bit)

Labview 2024Q4 (64-bit)

NI-DMM 2023Q4 (also tested with 2024Q4)

Labview FPGA module 2024Q1

Tested on windows 10 and 11, no difference here. The crash occurs only in Labview 2024Q4 (64bit)

According to this table, instrument drivers and FPGA module should be compatible with both our Labview versions.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Hi,

Today I installed labview 2024Q3 x64 (including NI-DMM and FPGA module) on a fresh system through package manager.

When I try to open "niDMM initialize.vi" from the instr drivers, labview closes without any error or warning.

This seems to be the same issue as I encounter on our other machines (with multiple LV versions installed).

What is causing this? How can I find out?

Any toughts?
