Migrating from Vision Builder AI to LabVIEW starts LabVIEW but nothing happens

I have a machine installed with (in order of installation)

LabVIEW 8.5, Vision Bilder AI 3.0.1, Vision Development Module 8.5

I have created an inspection and want it to migrate to LabVIEW.

In the migration dialog I can select LabVIEW 8.5 with NI Vision 8.5 and I have selected an empty folder. Vision Builder AI starts LV but LV will only show the Getting started dialog and no VI are written to the folder.

It doesn't matter if I start LV before VB AI.

How do I get it work.

I have found how to get it work.

The best solution in sense of reproducibility is:

You need to setup the screen in the way that the state diagram is on the left and the image on the right. Also you need to activate View>>View complete inspection setup. After LabVIEW has started and you are sitting there waiting to start click on e.g. the link under Resources>>Upgrading LabVIEW?>>Merging VIs. This will open the help and start the generation of the VIs 1 or 2 seconds later. Clicking on "Blank VI" will open a new VI but not start the generation of the VIs.

The other setups of the screen will work too but nor reliable. If you have the image on the left and the state diagram on the right it will work only half of the time.

i installed the same software version on my computer and it works without any problem. (see video in the attachment)
Do you have a firewall installed on the computer that blocks the migration to labview?

Hi Elmar,

I installed it on a Win2000 machne but with the following order:

LabVIEW 8.5, Vision Development Module 8.5, Vision Bilder AI 3.0.1

It works at expected.

Also I have it installed on a Win XP machine, but after that installation I was out ot office and couldn't test it.

Maybe it has to do with the order of installation or it is something on that particular machine. The machine is now on a customer location and I have no access to it.

thats correct if you first install the VBAI software and afterwards the LV version the mirgration dosent work.
