I have not heard of this problem before with MAX.
What operating system are you using and which version of MAX?

DeathDog,
This seems to be an unusual problem. Does the welcome screen of MAX stays up or
does it disappear afterwards? Has it opened before? Did it get corrupted after
installing a software? What other National Instruments software do you have in
this notebook?
A possible solution is to uninstall MAX, download the newest version of DAQmx
which includes MAX, and see if that solves the problem.

Try deleting all the directory found in "Document and setting\all users\National Instruments\Max". I had a similiar problem because of a corrupted data base file.

Hi DeathDog,
I would suggest going through the "Database Corruption" part of the following KnowledgeBase. Also, I would like to know which version of the Device Driver did you install. As mentioned above, do check if you are an administrator for this machine. Hope this helps.
