The same troubleshooting steps, only applied to the VI in question here, should fix your VI.

KCS articles for the win.
I couldn't search for this article when troubleshooting. Please add 'Excel Sort Data.vi' as an example vi that breaks in the article as most people on the forums have error codes pointing towards this VI.

It seems Bo really does know. Thank you I have marked it as the solution and another lesson learnt.
I did not know Office had updated, microsoft doing things quietly in the background again, I don't feel I am working alone here

I just updated the Knowledge Base article Report Generation Toolkit VIs Broken After Updating Office 365 to illustrate the recent changes in Office 365 as described above. Thanks to BoKnows and Tom for noticing!

Great thread... It fixed my problem as well. MS Office update is what caused issue on my end.

Just in case more run into this issue: I just updated the Knowledgebase article to reflect all changed needed to fix "Excel Sort Data.vi": LabVIEW Report Generation Toolkit VIs Broken
Please note that there are also repair steps available for 'Excel_Save_Workbook.vi': VI Is Broken When Using Excel_Save_Workbook.vi
