Hi , want to use LABVIEW from NI with my Tektronik but do I need to buy a licence or it s coming with the oscilloscope ?

when you want to use LabVIEW for more than just 7 days you need to buy a license…

(Why should the license come with the scope? Do you get a driving license just from buying a car?)

Hi Benitos,

Many instruments will say that they include LabVIEW drivers, but they are not affiliated with National Instruments (the company that makes LabVIEW). LabVIEW is a programming environment that you have to purchase separately from the instrument, and it does take some time to learn how to program effectively using it. Perpetual licenses cost about $1k-$5k right now depending on which version you pick. You can get up to a 45 day free trial if you are not sure about it.

Most Tektronix scopes come with their own software as well so that you can hook it up to the PC and save traces, so maybe you can start there and see if it is enough for you.
