Labview Certification

Hi All,

I am interested in Labview Certification. Can some one help me out regarding the references that i should go through for this.
I have gone through NI Fundamental exams and also cleared them.
Also i have seen the Basics I & II tutorials from NI.
But will that be sufficient??

Your guidance will be highly appreciated!!

Hi Harish,

Your first step would be to take CLAD Certified LabVIEW Assocoiate Developer) exam

The preperation that you mention you have done, should be enough to take CLAD. Provided, that you also have enough 'hands on' experience

These links will also help you prepare for CLAD

If you are in India, contact your nearest NI office and they should be able to explain the process of applying for CLAD

Any doubts, do get back

Regards,

Dev

Hi Dev,

Thanks for your prompt reply. Your link will definitely give me an insight of the minute details for my preparation.

I have been working on Labview for quite some time now. But much of my work had been in Labview 7.1.

I have not used Labview 8.0 much. Is this going to hamper the certification process in any ways?

Currently i m in Mumbai, India.

For CLAD, its not much of a bother, I guess.

But for CLD, its always safer to be well versed in the current version of LabVIEW.

Contact your regional NI people for more info

Hi Harish,

I have several colleagues that had the basics I and II. They all made the online test and also made screen-shots (print screen) to go over the questions after the online test. Nobody has passed the real test yet as the questions were pretty different to the online questions. I haven't prepared yet to take the CLAD, but will for the future. I think it's a good idea getting the print screens, so you can see how the vis work. The online test doesn't tell you which answers have been wrong. So it's good to check that by your self.

Hope that helps a little.

RE: Familiarity with the current version of LV

Part of the certification process checks that you are up to speed on the current version. Since LV 8.20 is newly released, you should check with the testing center to find out version of LV they have installed on the machines.

If you do not have the most couurent version, you could try down-loading the trial version before you take the exam.

Getting familiar with the new version will help because the location of functions have moved since LV 7.X  and you do NOT want to be learning were to find the new locations durring the test.

When I took CLAD, it was a written test and not online.

so, check out if it is still the same in India.

But for CLD, you will certainly have to use the current version of LabVIEW

CLAD is written, but you can practice online here: http://www.ni.com/training/labview_exam.htm.

As soon as you pass the online exam, it will not let you take it any more. We have made the screen shots from there.

Harish,

my colleague zipped the file. As it just contains all screenshots as tiff-files, it will be more than 200MB when unzipped.
