LabVIEW will not open at all

I also got the 550 error when the forums were open in the background.  Maybe there's some bug in the forums.

The first page of this thread causes the 550 error - it's browser related. Nothing to do with LabVIEW, or a bug in the forums. On that page the problem is that in one of the messages there's an image that has a URL of "ftp://ftp.ni.com/incoming/contour.jpg" which doesn't exist, hence the 550 error.

I called NI's support, and they helped me fix the problem without having to reinstall.  LabVIEW.ini got corrupted somehow.  I had to rename the old one and restart LabVIEW to let it create a new one.  Thanks for the suggestions.
