LV2017 Indicators are labeled as controls

I dont see that behaviour in 2015, but im using modern. I am guessing you are using Silver from the image, so maybe thats the difference.

Yes it's for Silver, not Modern, down to LV 2011 at least.

I'm trying your steps, both in LV 2014 SP1 and 17 SP1.  They just say "Numeric" for me.  It never adds control or indicator to the label.  I use Modern as the default style.

 

I'm thinking something is different about your LabVIEW installation.  I can't replicate your results.

 

Never mind.  I reread the latest messages and see you are talking about silver controls.  If I change new VI's to use silver, start a new VI, and follow your steps, I can replicate.  I feel like I might have heard about this before, I'll see if I can search.

Yes same for me, it only seems to happen when Silver is set as the default style.

CAR 406316 was filed a few years ago and is basically what is being described in this thread. If using silver controls, creating a numeric indicator from the block diagram will have the label numeric control.
