Hello,
We have an aircraft structure and are trying to implement vibration control by
applying feedback through an actuator. We will acquiring data using NI c-DAQ
9172 chasis with modules 9233 (IEPE), 9215 (AI), 9263 (AO).
We will take the acceleration input through 9233, process it (i.e. perform
integration, multiply a gain, put some offset) using LabVIEW 8.2 and produce a signal which we
will then send as analog output through 9263 to be given to the actuator. The system
dynamics are at frequencies less than 30 Hz, so we do not really need data acquisition
rate more than say 1000 HZ. We presume that all the operations (integration,
multiplicaiton, etc) should not take much time.
Please tell if the above hardware and software are good enough to do this. I have heard that since the 9172 chasis is connected to computer through USB cable, it is not suitable for closed loop studies as we are doing. Is this correct?
We also have PCI 6024 E card. Can that be a substitute for the C-DAQ 9172 and modules?
Also, the processing that we will bedoing on the data is not very complicated. And so we think that we don't need a real time module in our case (Compact RIO, etc). Please tell if we are right here.
Thanks,
Mandar
