How to speed Excel data dump?

Hi,
It takes a long time to dump data into Excel (2003) spread sheet during data dump (test report). I need to speed up the process.

1)  How can I disable the update property of Excel (that may help speed the dumping data process...).
2)  I would like to turn off viewing of the  Excel spreadsheet (but dupming data in the background), that may help or not? How can I do that, and which VIs from the library can I use, any sample code?

I am using LabVIEW version 7.1 on XP.

Thanks for your help.

I've attached a vi showing how to turn off viewing of Excel (that is, make it invisible). Wire the appropriate control to False, for not visible.

To answer the first question, access the "EnableCalculation" property of the worksheet object.

To answer the first question, set the ScreenUpdating property of the Application object to false.

Well, in terms of Excel, it's the same property/method. In terms of using ActiveX with LabWindows, you're better off asking this question in the LabWindows forum. This is the LabVIEW forum. LabVIEW is the graphical programming language.
