How do i create a Dropbox for niHSDIO sample clock?

Hello there,

I am a newbie in this LabVIEW programming. I would like to ask how to create the "pulldown box" for niHSDIO sample clock. In the pulldown box, there are choices such as On Board Clock, Strobe and ClkIn.

Apart from that, in the waveform graph, how can i change the values of the X & Y axis?

Hi Aidah,

All you need to do is right click on the Clock Source terminal of the niHSDIO Configure Sample Clock.vi and choose Create >> Constant. This will give you a list of all valid sources for the sample clock. You can use this method for most VIs that have a predefined list of valid inputs.

Hey thanks for the information!

How about the second question i posted regarding the waveform?

Thanks.

Hi,

You can change the x -axis by just typing in the values you want on the waveform graph in the front panel. Just highlight one of the numbers on the x-axis, and change it to the value you want. I don't think you can change the y -axis for nihsdio waveform graphs. They should just be 1 and 0's.

Hey there,

Then how about if i just want to put 3 values on the x-axis?

If you are taking one sample per clock cycle, then just put as the last time period on the graph, 3 times 1/clock frequency.

Hi Aidah,

You can access all the properties of the graph if you right click on the graph and select Properties. The Scales tab should allow you to change the settings for the X and Y axis. You can also assign/change properties programmitcally. Right click on the graph and select Create >> Property Node and then choose the property you want to read or modify. Once you place the property node on the block diagram you can right click on it and choose whether you want to read from it or write to it.

Have a good one.

Hello there,

Here's a new question. How do i create a list of signals on the Digital Signal Subset. I have attached a picture of an example, where the acquired is the one on the right.

Hi Aidah,

You need to create a digital waveform before you can use the DWDT Digital Signal Subset.vi. You can do this in a number of ways. The most straight forward is to use the Build Waveform.vi. You can find it in the Digital Waveform palette (Programming >> Waveform >> Digital Wfm). Make sure you are using the Build Waveform VI from the Digital Wfm palette as there is a VI with the same name for analog waveforms. I would also suggest looking at the Digital WDT Graph Mask.vi example program. This example shows one instance of where you might want to use the DWDT Digital Signal Subset.vi and how to use it.

Have a good one.
