Hello,

Does anyone know how to embed fonts into a vi, I have noticed that
the font will change if the system dosent have that font and at times
makes the front panel so cluttered its not usable. My second question
is does anyone know how to place a gif or jpeg some sort of image onto
the front panel?

I'm not too sure about the fonts, but I think the only thing you can do is use generic fonts that are most likely on other machines. As for the images you can copy an image from another app and then paste it onto the front panel. For example in Paint, that comes with windows, use the select tool to draw a box around the image you want and copy it (Ctrl+C). Then goto your front panel and paste (Ctrl+V). Or you can use a picture control.

You can add additional fonts or remove fonts from LabVIEW. LabVIEW just looks at the fonts that Windows has registered ot installed on the system. So, if there is a font which doesn not show up in LabIVEW which you would like to use, obtain either a .ttf or .fon file for the font and then go into the Control Panel and double-click on the Fonts icon. This will open a Fonts window showing all the true-type and normal font files. If you want to add a font, then click on the File menu and choose Install New Font. You will then get an Add Fonts window which asks for the path of the font file you wish to add. Browse to the appropriate path of the .fon or .ttf file you wish to add and hit okay. The list of available fonts will be updated accordingly in LabVIEW
without having to relaunch LV. You can also remove fonts from LV by removing them from the Fonts window (highlight the font you want to remove and predd Delete) reached through the Control Panel.

For an answer on importing images on the front panel, search KnowledgeBase 0N0FJT38. For .bmp and .jpeg files you can simply just copy/paste onto your front panel, but for .gif images you would have to save them as .wmf or .emf files and then import the picture from the file. If the pictures open with Web Browser, you may also try oppening them through ActiveX. Select Microsoft Web Browser control by right-clicking in the ActiveX container on the front panel, and specify the URL path to the Navigate Invoke Node on the block diagram. These are just workaround options. Plain .gif files are still not fully supported in LabVIEW. It will be supported in a future release.
