LabVIEW 6i upgrade bugs

Has anyone been able to run a LabVIEW 6.0.1 application on a machine that never had LabVIEW 6.0.0 and the LabVIEW 6.0.1 upgrade installed?

If so what was installed prior to installing the LabVIEW 6.0.1 application and with the run-time engine?

I have installed:
NI-DAQ 6.9.0f
NI-GPIB 1.60
LabVIEW 6.0.1 run-time
Note: The same .exe runs fine when built using LabVIEW 5.1.1.

Thank you in advance!

Hello Todd,

I have not seen this problem. I have been able to run exes built with LabVIEW 6.0, 6.0.1, and 6.0.2 on machines without any LabVIEW installed. Were any specific errors reported? What behavior did you see?

I recommend that you contact me via our support web page: http://www.ni.com/ask. If you put please forward to Joel Andersen on the email, it will get to me. Please include any specific errors you have seen.

Thanks,
Joel Andersen

National has fixed this bug in LabVIEW 6.0.2. The problem was this. When building an executable with VISA from LabVIEW 6.0.0 or 6.0.1 and running that executable invariably LabVIEW would CRASH on WNT, 95, 98, and 2000.

The key was that VISA was used in the LabVIEW built application.
