I tend to get the following message rather a lot when I try to save a vi.
Labview : Generic File I/O Error Cannot save VI "*.vi"
I can get around it by doing a save as and then rena me the file and then another save as and save it back to the original file name, but this is getting to be a real nuisance!
As soon as you said that you're saving to the network red lights started flashing. Check this thread for more details. This seems to be related to LabVIEW 8.20. You should save to the local drive and then use a folder
comparison tool (e.g., Beyond Compare), or better yet, a source code control tool to sync up with the
server. This is what I do, and I've never had a problem.
