The size of the embedded block RAM on the PCI-7833R and PXI-7833R is 1728 kb. You can find this on page 4 of the specifications or in the Virtex-II 3000 column of Table 1 here.

Dumb question I know, but I must ask for my own clarification: The spec says 1728 kbits - this means 432000 bytes, or 54000 U32's for instance in a Memory block?

And a followup. How is this memory used up in applications? What things deplete this pool? FIFOs, Memory blocks, anything else?

Hi,
1728 kbits = 216 kbytes. The block memory is used for memory blocks and DMA FIFOs.
