Error When Running LabVIEW Executable - drawmgr.cpp, line 2931

I built my VI into an executable in LabVIEW. When I try to run the executable on the same or another machine, I get an error in drawmgr.cpp, line 2931.

I tried all possible suggestions on the ni.com/failure site, but the problem persists. Does anyone know how to solve this problem? Thanks

There are two common situations that may cause this. The drawmgr is
used for all drawing, to screen and printer. If your application is
printing, and the crash coincides with printing, try a different printer
option, such as bitmap printing or postscript printing.

If it has nothing to do with printing, then try to lower the
acceleration on your video settings, or get a newer version of the video
driver from the manufacturer.

To be more specific, this error indicates that selecting a Windows Pen
object failed. If you need for assistance, please indicate what version
of LV, what OS you are ru
nning on, etc.

I am getting this same error. Was there ever any resolution to this?

I am trying to install my application on two different PCs running WindowsXP. In both cases I get the same drawmgr.cpp line 2931 error.

I have tried building the application on both a Windows98 and Windows2000 Pro system. I do not have a WindowsXP system with LabVIEW development system to try running it there or building the application from there

Any helpful guidance to resolve this?

Hello,

I'm not exactly sure what happened with this, but if you post your version of LabVIEW and some additional information it might help.  Also, when you restart LabVIEW after the crash if you send in the error log file it could help too.  I also found some related links which might help:

Sorry. I forgot to say that this is LV 6.1.

I'm not sure what you mean by "restart LabVIEW" because this failure is during and attempt to run an .exe on a machine that doesn't have LabVIEW.

I saw that the app builder said that I have to install the LV runtime engine on any machine that this is installed on. Could that be the problem. I told it to include everything in the installation package but maybe it left out the run-time engine? If so, how do I get that installed?

Sorry about the log file stuff, if you aren't running the application development environment you won't get the option to submit the report.  This issue has been fixed with LabVIEW 7 (and in 7.1 and now 8.0) but there are some possible workarounds in LabVIEW 6.1.  The solutions are outlined in the KB above: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/websearch/16CF1334D094A4F6C1256BE30074B9FE?OpenDocument.

With regards to the runtime engine, if the package used an installer the installer probably included the runtime engine.  You should be able to see the runtime engine in your add/remove programs in Windows.  If not, you can always download a copy from the NI Website: http://digital.ni.com/softlib.nsf/webcategories/85256410006C055586256BBB002C130D?opendocument&node=132070_US

Hope it helps -
