I have done more research on this issue and this is a commonly observed occurrence with LabVIEW and LVDSC since version 8.x. The workaround if you want to separate your variables is to create libraries for these variables and put the variables in different libraries as suggested in the post given by Ravens Fan. In other words convert the virtual folders to libraries by right-clicking on them and selecting Convert to Library. You can create nested libraries too in which case the variable URL becomes \computer\lib1\lib2\variable. Hope this helps and we are trying to fix this in our next release. Thanks!
