Can I run the datasocket server without LabVIEW?

Hi all

I want to run the datasocket server on a PC without LabVIEW. Could I just install LabVIEW runtime engine and copy the whole DataSocket folder on that PC to use the server?

Best regards

Hi Bill,

you even do not need to install the LabVIEW runtime engine to run the data socket server. It seems to be effective only to copy the folder to the PC. Dependency Walker didn't find any static references to any of the runtime engines (LV or CVI).

Bill,

The DataSocket server is installed from a LabVIEW executable when you build it as an installer. If you are not using the LabVIEW Application Builder, you can just copy over a number of files. See this KnowledgeBase for more info:

Good luck!
