Broadcasting / Web publishing webcam and view without labview on client

Hello!

I am using LabVIEW 8.2 (20th anniv. edi) Professional.

My objective is to broadcast frontpanel with several simple controls and an Image viewer, which shows images from any of the two webcams (selected by user) connected to the system. I am using IMAQ-USB to capture images from webcam. The image acquision and display works well.

But, when I publish the VI over web, the client cannot view webcam images in the client front panel when there is no LabVIEW installed; i.e., when the webaddress (generated during webpublishing) is accessed over internet by another computer which has no LabVIEW installed on it, it cannot view the frontpanel. Instead, it asks to install a run time control. After installing the control, the front panel is viewed and can be controlled, but the images are not displayed still. Even if an older version (7.1) is installed on the client, the images are not displayed.

Is it impossible to view / broadcast webcamera images over network where there is no labview on client computers?

Would be great to get replies.
Thanks ahead!

Best regards,
Vaibhav

Hi!

Thank you very much for the answer.

But I want to view these images on a computer on which there is no Labview installed. Is it possible with web publishing? I guess, it is possible with data socket, but I cannot do it through web publishing.

Best regards,

Vaibhav
