Did you mean:

Adios

"You are definitely the most useful person on this discussion forum" - are you serious?!? Wow! If "LabVIEWGuru" posted his initial to get some sort of validation (however misdirected it may be), then there it is!

Are you happy now LabVIEWGuru? Whenever the low ratings are getting you down, why not refer back to this post - it's sure to perk you back up again!

I agree - you should stay - you are valuable to the online community, but you shouldn't expect to have your ego stroked periodically so it's "all worth while". We'll most definately miss you if you leave, but if you're truly serious about the rating system forcing you out, then quit making such a song-and-dance about it and bow out gracefully.

Labviewguru,

Here are some stats; There're 2278 messages in my newsbox, you've written
186 of them. This only includes the last 2 months.

This adds up to 8% of all messages (including the questions!).

There are appr. 800 questions, so 12.5% { 186 / (2278-800) * 100 } of the
awnsers are given by you.

A few negative reaction shouldn't get you down.

+ When people get an unexpected awnser, they get a bad mood and give a
negetive reaction.
+ When people get a great awnser, they close there browser, and start up
Labview, and have fun, without a reaction...

Sad but true, that's how it seems to go.

I hope you reconsider, but if you do quit, can we still enjoy your valueable
contribution in pica-army? I'm following the discussion on SE techniques
that you're
having with my boss!

Regards,

Wiebe.

Labviewguru,

I am very sorry that you have experienced such frustrations with the ratings system. It is obvious from the above posts that your contributions to the forums are very much appreciated.

As these forums are grounded in the networking of professionals, I have opened the topic of the ratings system to the general LabVIEW audience. If the majority of users agree with your feelings about the ratings system, I can certainly consider their removal in a future release of the discussion forums.

Here is the poll.

I never saw the ratings anyway. Didn't even know they existed until
Michael brought it up.

I had to vote 'Satisfactory', as 'Useless' and 'Lose them NI!' are synonymous in my mind.

'Useless' should have been 'Better than nothing, but needs some work'.

I will frequently click on a topic with a highly rated answer when the description is out of my area of immediate interest. I find them useful when they work to identify truly valuable insight but frustrating when a high rating is applied to the answer of a question that's been asked (and admirably answered) a bunch of times and was readily available via a cursory search.

I have no solutions to offer, but I wish that I could identify the answers that were highly rated by 'top' enthusiasts at a glance.

Everybody give Labviewguru 4 stars for starting this dialogue and lets get back to work
.

You too, Mike.
