A few simple questions

Hi, I'm a labview newbie and it'll be helpful if someone can help me with the following questions!

1. How can I create a 3x3 matrix.

2. How can I multiply two complex numbers in labview?

thanks in advance.

1.  I could be wrong on this but I think a 3x3 matrix in LabVIEW is equal to a 3x3 array so you should be able to use the build array VI for this.

2.  See attached picture for multiplying two complex numbers.  In order to make one on the front panel you should right click the control and change its representation to what you need (complex single/ double/ extended).

Hi Shibu,

See attach file, hope this will be of interest for you.

We have two ears and one mouth so that we can listen twice as much as we speak.

You may also find the VI called complex A X B.vi interesting
it is under Analyze/mathematics/linear algebra/complex linear algebra. However if you only have the base edition you will not have it.

You can e.g. create a 3x3 2D array using "initialize array" or with 2 stacked FOR loops. There are many other possibilities.

To mutiply two complex numbers is just use the plain multiply node. It will do the right thing. 🙂

Attached VI (LabVIEW 7.0) show a few examples.
