3D Analysis

If I have a XY system that will move a laser sensor to measure Z, in some way or form, I'll be able to get a 3D plot of the part's surface.

With that 3D plot, I am expecting to see some peaks and valleys. How do I measure the distance between the peaks and valleys using LabVIEW? Is there some VI that I can use? Do I treat the 3D plot as 2D graphs and analyze it that way?

Thanks.

Hi,

Try to change some of the inputs at "3D Surface Example - Fluctuating Sine Wave.vi" example. I used it when i tried to learn about 3d Plots. You can treat them as a matrix and then to display them at 3D-Graphs.

Change some Controllers and Constants at the 3D-Graphs examples to learn more about them.

Hope it Helps....
