2013 installer

Solved!
Go to solution

I am trying to install LV 2013.  The select products to install dialog shows all of the installed 2012 products, but not LV 2013.  The only 2013 products that it shows is Measurement Studio.  There is no browse selection.  The title bar on the dialog says "NI Developers Suite 2013 DS1 DVD".  I don't get it.

Hi Jim,

you probably have the Spring edition DVDs at hand. You need to get the Autumn edition (August)…

LV2013 was available with DevSuite2013DS2 in August 2013!

And you can also downlad LV2013 from NI website…

Best regards,
GerdW

Adding to what Gerd said, the Developer Suite is what happens when you mix marketing and engineering.  It really doesn't make sense.  NI releases two suites annually, one in the spring and one in the fall.  The one in the spring is DS1 and the fall is DS2.  NI also releases most things in August as part of NI Week.  With the spring, they typically release SP1 for the current version of LabVIEW.

If you have DS1, you have the prior year's SP1 version of the software.  It's expected the 2013 DS1 will have 2012 SP1 on it.  As Gerd said, you can either find the 2013 DS2 or 2014 DS1 to install LabVIEW 2013 or 2013 SP1.  Otherwise, it's trivial to find the installers using Google to simply download the installer assuming you have a serial number to activate it.

Thanks guys.  Although I have an SSP, I usually wait a year to move to the new release.  My old PC died yesterday and I only brought the 2013 DS1 disks home with me for the holidays.  I'll go look for the newest download now.

Thanks natasftw

I downloaded 2013 SP1 and it installed like a champ.  Now I just need to figure out why my new Win7 pro machine won't access external drives!!!
