I want to use Kinect with labview. My computer (window 7/32 bits) have Labview 2013 and .net framework 4.5.1. I look at the example" Using the Kinect with LabVIEW and the Upgraded Microsoft .NET API", download and installed NI VISION acqusition software 2013, Microsoft Kinect SDK 1.5, config file and Kinect SDK v1.0.zip. When i open the' Kinect Example.vi', it showed:" SubVI 'Kinect Library, Lvlib:Get Color Frame.vi': SubVI is not executable." Open the other VI, they also showed :"SubVI 'IMAQ ColorValue ToInteger': SubVI is missing, or SubVI 'IMAQ Copy': SubVI is missing". It seems there are a lot of SubVI were missing. Can you help. Thanks

maybe your SubVI 'Kinect Library, is older version than the LabVIEw you are running with. so you get the error Sub VI is not Executable. it happened to me in NI USB, when i upgrade my labview from 2009 to 2012, so i installed NI8451 for Labview 2012.

Thanks. I checked the Kinect Library was modefied in 2012. Do you think the config file ( runtime version= "4.0.0xxx") is OK for .net framewor 4.5.1. Do you know where to download example for kinect using Labview?

hi Joan331,
I would suggest this Toolkit from the University of Leeds:
besides LabView you will have to install:
- Microsoft .NET 4.0 Framework or higher
- Microsoft Kinect SDK 1.0 or higher

Alex

Thanks. Do you think Microsoft Kinect SDK software need to work with microsoft visual studio?

The Microsoft Kinect SDK streamlines the connection between the Kinect and a windows machine.

What does "work" mean in this context?

The Kinesthesia Toolkit contains some Vision Acquisition VIs inside, but you don't need those for recording (e.g. RGB image, height image or sound) or to control the kinect's motors.
Those VA VIs are rather used to display the recorded data.
But I think it will be much easier to use Kinesthesia with VA installed, especially if you have little experience in image processing:

Thanks a lot. I try the kinect_ example. It seems working. But i have question, the video was kept jumping and the 3D Skeleton only show a point. How to improve it. Also how to save video into file. Please help. Thanks.

your description is very vague, so I can only make some guesses:
the video was kept jumping
maybe you should decrease the kinects framerate (fps) to merge with your output device.
the 3D Skeleton only show a point
I never used the 3d Skelton image.
Maybe some configuration issue?
Also how to save video into file
I can't help you with this topic - it should be easily feasible with Vision IMAQ:
