What light intensity sensor are you using, and does it integrate well with Labview? I am having trouble finding a sensor that is sensitive and still integrates with labview though I'm not working with fluorescent light, just LEDs in visible light.

aroberts,

I have been working on sensing many different wavelengths of light using several different sensors. For ambient visible light, you might want to try using the TEMT6000 from Sparkfun (https://www.sparkfun.com/products/8688). They are cheap and very easy to setup an analogRead.

As I am doing fluorescense measurement, I needed a very low light sensor so I switched to a PIN photodiode with sensitivity in the wavelength I was trying to detect. Then I amplify that signal and convert it to a voltage using a high precision amplifying circuit. Here is a link that has several circuits that I've gotten good results with. http://www.hamamatsu.com/resources/pdf/ssd/si_pd_circuit_e.pdf.

Best of luck.

Since you are new, I would highly recommend that you do not use LIFA

because it is old and unsupported. You should use LINX instead.
