Hello everyone,
I am using arduino uno to take readings off the analog pin 1 from the hall effect sensor. The sensor behaves as expected and when the magnet gets close, the voltage reading goes to 0, however when the magnet is not close, the indicator value bounces around wildly. How do i steady this value? would adding a capacitor work to steady the output or would i just kill the sensitivity of my readings?

It sounds like you might need a pull-up resistor. However, it's hard to tell for sure without more information about the sensor.
