Com port issue windows 8?

I have a .VI that works fine on my windows 7 computer. When I move the arduino to my windows 8 computer, the VISA resource for the Arduino init icon does not recognize com ports. Only option is refresh. It shows on my devises as Arduino Uno (COM5) burt not seen on the control or constant.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Have you tried re-installing VISA?

Thanks. That did it. I don't remeber ever having to do that on my prior computer.

Yeah, I've heard that there are some programs that will mess with the VISA install if installed after VISA so re-installing VISA fixes that.  I'm not entirely sure what programs do it but I've seen this solution several times .
