Status: New

below, here is the "old" File-Dialog

                                       But NI advises this :

                              toto1.png

the problem is that this "new" File-Dialog isn't aligned like the "old" one

Please ... align this "new" File-Dialog-Express-VI"

Better yet, just add the "old" File Dialog function back to the palettes.  The express VI doesn't add any useful functionality, so I never understood why it exists in the first place.

Same sentiment here! Even when viewed as icon the current dialog express VI is slightly oversized, with an ill-fitting caption on top. Ugly! I remember the old dialog and liked it much better! I wonder if it is still hidden somewhere for backwards compatibility.

If you dig far enough into the express VI, you will find the "old" function.  So, yes, it is still hidden somewhere.

Yes, Got it. 😄 (I have no idea where it is in the vi.lib hierarchy, though...)

That is what "merge VIs" are for.Smiley Wink

It's a primitive function, so you won't be able to find it anwhere in vi.lib as it's part of LabVIEW.exe.  Like crossrulz said, the best bet is to find an instance of it by digging through the express VI, then create a merge VI so you can easily access it from the palettes.

MGI has a merge VI for the File Dialog in their toolkit.
